UA Veteran Alliance

The University of Arizona Veteran Alliance (UA Vet Ally) program trains campus-wide advocates to create a supportive campus culture for our military-connected students. UA Vet Allies are able to listen and recognize the capabilities of our military connected students and connect them with various campus resources.

Faculty and staff who choose to become UA Vet Allies gain comprehensive knowledge and abilities to discern and address the needs of military-connected students. As a cross-cultural learning opportunity, through several required training sessions with weekly online readings, scenarios and reflections, the UA Vet Ally program provides faculty and staff with:

· An understanding of the military experience, issues that affect our military connected students, the strengths that this population brings to campus and the classroom; and

· An understanding of how they can help ease the transition and an awareness of campus resources available to military connected students and families on and off campus.

Upon completion of the Veteran Alliance training, each participant will receive a Vet Ally approved location marker. This marker will help military-connected students identify where Vet Ally advocates are located on Arizona campuses.

Registration for the Fall 2022 Veteran Alliance training program will begin soon!
