VA Healthcare

Because both the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System (SAVAHCS) and VETS are dedicated to serving veterans, they often work closely with one another. VETS has the privilege to make available a great number of resources from the SAVAHCS, some on a weekly basis. Below you will find details on just some of the many ways VETS partners with the SAVAHCS to provide services to student veterans:

  • Women’s Counselor Deborah Anderson, from SAVAHCS, holds counseling sessions each week in Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) specifically for female veterans. Contact CAPS to find out more or to make an appointment, CAPS Phone: (520) 621-3334. If you need urgent medical advice when Campus Health is closed, call the “After Hours” number: (520) 570-7898
  • A Nurse Practitioner from SAVAHCS holds day-long session throughout each semester in Campus Health Services to enroll student veterans in the VA Health Care system. Keep an eye on the VETS Calendar or the VETS Facebook Page for dates.
  • Transition Patient Advocate for OIF/OIE/OND from SAVAHCS is based in the VETS Center throughout each semester. Keep an eye on the VETS Calendar or the VETS Facebook Page for dates.
